Dr Simo Lushaba

During his career, Dr Lushaba has worked as a General Manager Operations at Spoornet, Chief Executive at Rand Water and Vice President at Lonmin plc.

Presently, he is a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Harmony Gold Ltd, Cashbuild Ltd, and South Africa Day (NPC). He is also Non-Executive Chairman of Signium Africa. Dr Lushaba was previously a director at Trans Caledon Tunnel Agency, Water Research Commission, a member of Council – University of Johannesburg, Presidential Review Committee on State-owned Enterprises, and a Trustee at Nepad Business Foundation. He was Chairman of the Board of South African Post Office (SOC) Ltd (also an Administrator responsible for stabilising the organization and developing its turnaround plan), Spescom (Ltd) and Pikitup Johannesburg (Pty) Ltd.

Dr Lushaba has a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Wales, a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Advanced Biochemistry from the University of Zululand (UZ) and a Bachelor of Science Chemistry and Advanced Biochemistry from the University of Zululand (UZ). He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Company Directions from GMIT and (IoDSA) and is a Chartered Director South Africa (CDSA) registered with the Institute of Directors (IoDSA).
